A trip to Lagamar

Cardoso Island is in Vale do Ribeira on the south coast of São Paulo state.
The trip lasts 3 to 4 hours through Rodovia Régis Bittencourt (BR-116).

We stopped in Iguape a very old city in Brazil. Iguape is a historic heritage city. We visited a church called Bom Jesus de Iguape; Morro do Espia where we learned everything about Lagamar and Valo Grande, a natural disaster.
After stopping there we traveled to Cananeia where we stayed in a hotel called Golfinho Plaza. It is very simple but it is comfortable. In the evening we went to Pizza Place and went back to the hotel to sleep.
On the next day we woke up at 7 o'clock had breakfast and went to Cananeia port.
We took a boat and went to Cardoso Island. During the voyage we saw dolphins and fishes. After 30 minutes we stopped the boat at the beach and went to the shore.
The weather in Cardoso Island is hot and wet and it sometimes rains.
We were divided in groups and we went to explore the island. My group visited the sandbanks where we saw "bromélias", spiders, trees and we learned about the local vegetation.
After that we went to the forest. It is very wet. We saw very big trees such as Palmito-Juçara and Guapiruvu. In forest there are a lot of animals: birds, mamals etc.
Then we visited other ecosistems: the beach, the rocky shore and the mangrove. The mangrove is very cool, we even got into the mud.
At 6:30 pm we went back to the hotel in Cananeia.
In the evening we ate in Pizza Place and went to sleep.
On the 3rd day
we got up at 7:00 o'clook and had breakfast. After that, we went to visit the church of Cananeia. That church is very old and there is a lot of history about it.Finally we took a boat to Ilha Comprida. On that island we went to the beach and learned about the location of Lagamar and the Ribeira de Iguape river.
In the afternoon we went back to São Paulo.
